- The photos should be no more than 6 months old
- The photos should be in colour
- They should be taken from a front view
- These must be professional photos on water resistant and tear resistant ID photo paper
- Digital photo paper or any other type of photo is not acceptable.
- In the case of babies eyes must be open.

- In sharp focus and clear
- Show looking directly at the camera
- Show skin tones naturally
- Have appropriate brightness and contrast at high resolution
- Be colour neutral
- Show the eyes open and clearly visible
- No hair across the eyes
- Show facing on the camera, not looking over one shoulder
- Showing both edges of the face clearly
- Be taken with uniform lighting
- No shadows or flash reflections on the face & no red eye
- The photograph must show the eyes clearly
- No flash reflection off the glasses and no tinted lenses
- Make sure that spectacle frames do not cover any part of the eyes
- Head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons
- Neutral expression and the mouth closed.
